The Golden Rock - Not-So-Live Golden Horse Awards 2009 Edition
For some reason, no Hong Kong television station is showing this year’s Golden Horse Awards live (does the lack of HK presence play any role in it?). So all I could do was watch the entertainment news channel and update the awards list as I go. Now that I find out it was simulcasted on the internet live, maybe I can live-blog it again next year.

And wow — Li Bingbing and not Zhou Xun for Best Actress?
And another wow (shock rather than out and out happiness) for Kara Hui winning Best Supporting Actress for “At The End of Daybreak”. Did people honestly believe her acting was that great in that film??

I thought Zhou Xun was doing Zhou Xun, while Li Bing Bingbing had a “flashier” role, so I’m not exactly shocked.
Good for KJ, but I’ve come to like All’s Right With the World even more.
And I thought Kara Hui wasn’t bad in At the End of Daybreak. At least better than Zhang Ziyi in Forever Enthralled.
