The Shaw Brothers set as seen in
Royal Tramp
submitted by Sean Tierney
In 2002, Sean Tierney had a chance to tour the Shaw
Brothers sets and happened to snap a photo in front
of this well-worn structure. As luck would have it,
the angle of his photo is almost identical to a scene
from the Stephen Chow film Royal Tramp! However,
the foot traffic was a lot thinner when Sean visited.

<< The same
set location as seen in Stephen Chow's Royal
Tramp. By the way, that's Sean Tierney in
the above photo standing next to Dr. Cheung Pak-Tong,
head of Hong Kong Baptist University's Cinema
Department and director of Marianna. |

View from the Tsing
Ma Bridge
as seen in Heroic
Duo
submitted by Sean Tierney
Reader Sean Tierney submitted the following find:
a view from the Tsing Ma Bridge identical to that
seen in the male bonding action flick Heroic Duo,
starring Leon Lai and Ekin Cheng. In the film sequence,
Officer Ken (Ekin Cheng) is escaping from the cops,
and jumps from the Tsing Ma Bridge to make good his
getaway. Please don't cry; he lives, and goes on to
rout the bad guys in ass-kicking, homoerotic fashion.

<< A scene
from Heroic Duo. At first glance, one might
think it's an exact copy of the above picture
made murky to better imitate a DVD screen capture.
However, the water trail left by the boat disproves
that theory. HA! |

<< Another
shot from the same scene in Heroic Duo.
This is a pullback shot revealing part of the
Tsing Ma Bridge and, in the lower right hand corner,
Ekin Cheng as Officer Ken! Yes, that's Ekin Cheng.
It's not some guy in a suit pretending to be Ekin
Cheng; it's really him. If you doubt us, go buy
a copy and see for yourself. It's better than
For Bad Boys Only. |
