Review
by Kozo: |
Generally
funny but overall not-so-spectacular comedy featuring
Mr. Comedy himself, Stephen Chow. Chow is a wacky but
lovable mainlander duking it out with wacky bad guy
Yuen Wah. Meanwhile, he learns kung-fu from the legendary
Josephine Siao, and assorted hijinks involving Cheung
Man and Nat Cheung Bak-Cheung go on forever. Like I
said, this flick is generally funny but overall this
is a non-essential Stephen Chow movie. It's nice to
see Chow work with one of the premier HK Cinema stars
in Josephine Siao, but even that doesn't make this an
automatic recommended film. At the very least, Chow's
character is much more pleasant and likable than some
of his later works, like Sixty Million Dollar Man.
