For
those who must have a live action City Hunter, this
is probably as close as you'll get. It still isn't that good,
though. |

Review
by Kozo: |
Hey everyone, it's yet another Hong Kong version of City
Hunter! Called Maang Boh (the Cantonese name for
City Hunter's Ryu Saeba) or Mr. Mumble to the phonetically
impaired. Star Michael Chow shows great enthusiasm as Mr.
Mumble, an SDU sharpshooter who gets fired when he shirks
duty to chase skirts. Without a job, he accepts an assignment
to protect Pauline Suen, who’s pretty but a little shrill
in her lead debut. Francoise Yip appears as Mumble’s cop friend
and she pretty much does nothing except slink around and switch
personalities all over the place. Average action and Hong
Kong-style hijinks carry the picture, which earns points for
being truer to the original City Hunter than Wong Jing’s
ghastly 1993 travesty. However, that film had Jackie Chan’s
trademark flair and energy, while this film has...Michael
Chow. the film turns out to be standard HK fare, with little
rhyme or reason holding the whole ball of wax together. (Kozo
