Review
by Kozo: |
This
fun flick from the eighties features Lam Ching-Ying
as a modern-day cop with Taoist monk methods. He’s enlisted
by Wu Ma to track down a mysterious drug dealer who’s
using dead bodies to do her dealing. Along the way,
Lam gets saddled with a brash young partner (Wilson
Lam) who doesn’t believe in all this Taoist stuff. However,
he changes his tune when he discovers the powers that
their evil adversary has - and she’s a Japanese drug
kingpin played by Michiko Nishikawa. The action scenes
are fun (as one would expect from Stephen Tung), and
the cultural connections are cool-as-can-be. Lam’s Taoist
detective methods are worth the price of the rental
alone. An entertaining movie. (Kozo 1996) |
