Review
by Kozo:
Stephen Chow brings his All for the Winner character into the God of Gamblers series. After making a ton of bucks on his own, Sing (Stephen Chow) and uncle Ng Man-Tat decide that the best way to exploit his gambling talents is to become the apprentice of the God of Gamblers (namely Chow Yun-Fat). However, Ko Chun is on sabbatical so they have to settle for the Knight of Gamblers (Andy Lau, returning as Knife from God of Gamblers). Knife is annoyed by Sing’s presence and wants to get rid of him. However, when a scummy fellow (Tan Lap-Man) usurps Knife's title, he and Sing team up to win back his reputation and make a lot of other people look stupid. Also, they gamble. Cheung Man appears a a woman who looks like Yee-Mong, Sing’s lust interest from All for the Winner. Wong Jing directed and it's what you would expect from one of his movies. The addition of Stephen Chow means more comedy and less action which isn't a bad thing at all. (Kozo 1995)
