Niki
Chow Lai-Kei was born on August 30, 1979. Her older sister
is Kathy Chow Man-Kei, a model and girlfriend of singer
Alex To Tak-Wai. Initially reluctant to enter the entertainment
industry, she nonetheless ended up following in her sister’s
footsteps when she encountered a talent scout on the streets.
She first appeared in some commercials and print ads before
making the transition to movies. Chow is currently the
first and only contract actor signed under director Joe
Ma Wai-Ho. Some of films she has appeared in are Feel
100% II (2001) and Fighting For Love (2001),
both directed by Ma. She was nominated for Best New Artist
at the 2001 Hong Kong Film Awards for her role in Dummy
Mommy Without a Baby. (Yinique 2003)
