Review
by Kozo: |
Pretty
lousy movie has two parts and no real correlation. Part
one is a supposed mystery about a wacky reporter (Mark Cheng)
who investigates the life of a recent widow (Emily Kwan).
It seems she has three recently deceased husbands, so obviously
Mark suspects a scoop. Story two is a thirty minute fluff-fest
about some Hong Kong office girls who watch a boss' beach
house and meet the local boat boy (Patrick Tam of Beast
Cops). Crickets baking in the sun are legendary entertainment value compared to anything in Love in the River. Uh, not to sound crass or anything, but was anyone really interesed in seeing Emily Kwan Bo-Wai naked? With crap like
this in the theater, you'd think the film industry would
figure out why no one goes anymore. Go watch something else. Anything else. (Kozo 1998) |
