Chan Siu-Chun was born on July 8, 1967. He joined
TVB's Dancer Training Classes in 1985 and gradually
moved his way up the ranks from there. He did back-up
dancing for popular singers like Roman Tam, Anita
Mui and Sandy Lam Yik-Lin until 1992, when he formed
a musical group with fellow dancers Jason Chu Wing-Tong
and Michael Tse Tin-Wah, called Wind, Fire, and
Ocean. He made his film debut in Twenty Something
(1994). The film would bring him a Hong Kong Film
Award for Best Supporting Actor and a nomination
for Best New Artist. That year he was also nominatedin
the same categoriesfor He's a Woman, She's
a Man.
The nominations would continue
to roll in for Chan. He was nominated for HK Film
Awards in 1995 for Heaven Can't Wait, and
in 1996 for Big Bullet. Since then, he's
appeared in two Milky Way films, Help!!!
(2000) and Comeuppance (2000), as well as
a number of popular horror flicks. However, the
role that truly Chan is truly identified with is
Chicken, from the Young and Dangerous series.
The series spanned the years 1996 to 2000, and during
that time, Chan rapidly transformed from an acclaimed
supporting actor into an unconventional leading
man.
Chan has gone through a
number of name changes over the years. His ID card
bears the name "Andy" and he was known
variously as "Donald" and "Calvin"
during his dancing days. He finally settled on the
name Jordan because he was a fan of Michael Jordan.
